I'm Yaniv, a self-taught developer living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I made the leap into software development after five years working as a chemical engineer at the intersection of technology and industrial operations. In those five years, I accomplished some great things -

  • taught myself enough JavaScript to run Industrial IoT pilot programs,
  • saved tens of thousands of $$$ in maintenance costs with predictive analytics,
  • and created smart dashboards the whole company could use to monitor our chemical plants.

Sounds like you liked your job...why did you quit to become a developer?

What makes me tick - in my personal hobbies and at work - is learning and creating.

I found my purpose. And it’s pretty straightforward. I want to create things that solve problems, bring joy or spark connection.
